Marvin Goldstein
Marvin Goldstein is one of the world’s most traveled pianists and entertainers. Beginning his musical training as a 9-year-old child, he was awarded a music scholarship to Tel Aviv University School of Music in Israel nine years later. He continued his studies at the famed “Mozarteum” of Salzburg, Austria and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Florida State University in French horn performance. Goldstein has been a guest lecturer at Education Week seminars at the Brigham Young University campuses in Provo, Utah, Hawaii and Rexburg, Idaho, where total participant numbers exceeded 30,000. Though formal awards are difficult to find in LDS music, the pianist has garnered honors wherever he performs. He won the Listeners Choice Award from the LDS Booksellers Association as the favorite instrumentalist three consecutive years. Additional honors include being listed in Who’s Who in Music in Europe and being named a National Keyboard Artist with the Kawai America Corporation. A workhorse in the studio, he has over 50 professional recordings to his name
Vanessa Joy
Acclaimed by the press for her “thrilling performance” and “pure soulful and interpretive style” soprano Vanessa Joy is known internationally for her “rich, pure, angelic voice” and “skilled showmanship”. Vanessa has performed with the Timpanogos Symphony, Idaho State Civic Symphony, Snow College Symphony, White Mountain Symphony, Salt River Symphony, Tempe Symphony Orchestra, Madison Presents Symphony, St. Andres Catholic Cathedral Orchestra in Germany, Concerto Orchestra and Choir in Santiago and Concepcion, Chile. Vanessa starred in her first Gilbert and Sullivan Operetta at the young age of 13 and was awarded Best Actress and Best Singer in the National Jr. Honor Society. Vanessa was awarded a music scholarship and graduated with her degree in Music from Brigham Young University. Vanessa has recorded 8 CDs and written two motivation books and personal journals with inspired messages.

Day 1 : Depart United States

Depart the United States and gear up for your journey through Israel with Marvin Goldstein and Vanessa Joy. Tour highlights include a boat ride on the Sea of Gailee, a visit to Magdalene – the home of Mary Magdalene, and a tour of the private Garden of Gethsemane.

Day 2 : Arrive in Tel Aviv

Transfer to the hotel with the group if you arrive with or before Dave’s flight. Enjoy a relaxing evening, walk on the beach or swim in the Mediterranean as you recover from jet lag and pre-pare for our wonderful adventure. Hotel is Renaissance. (D)

Day 3 : Tel Aviv - Joppa - Caesarea – Mt. Carmel

We will begin the tour by traveling along the Mediterranean coast to ancient Roman, New Tes-tament capital, Caesarea. Once in Caesarea, we will see an ancient Roman theatre and study the Biblical events that happened here. From Caesarea, we will go to Galilee stopping at Mt. Carmel on the way, where we will discuss the epic battle between Elijah and the wicked priests of Baal. We will overnight at Ramada Nazareth. (B,D)

Day 4 : Nazareth Village – Mount Tabor - Cana of Galilee

September 12, 2022
This morning will begin with a stop at the Nazareth Village. Here we will see life as depicted in a small village two thousand years ago. We will see how they pressed olives, tread the winepress, worked wood by hand, kept the flocks, etc. We will then visit Cana of Galilee, which is the loca-tion of the first recorded miracle in which Christ turned water to wine. Following lunch, we will visit Mount Tabor, which is believed by many to be the Mount of Transfiguration. Here we will look at the glorious events of Matthew 17 in which Christ and his disciples were transfigured. Modern revelation opens up the importance of that Biblical event. Ramada Nazareth (B,D)

Day 5 : Sea of Galilee Boat Ride – Capernaum – Mount of Beatitudes – St. Peter’s Fish Lunch - Tabgha

We will then drive to the coasts of the Sea of Galilee before arriving at traditional site where Christ delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Here we will find a quiet place to study the doctrines of that amazing sermon. After lunch, we will visit Capernaum, which was the center of Jesus’ Galilean ministry. In Capernaum, Christ performed many miracles and gave many profound teachings, including the “Bread of Life” sermon. We will see the remains of a synagogue from the time of Christ, which very well may have been the synagogue in which He taught. Time permitting, we will stop at Tabgha, which is the traditional location of the miracle in which the loaves and fish were multiplied. To finish the day, we will take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Feel the power and peace of this amazing location and learn of those miracles that took place on this Sea. Ramada Nazareth (B,L,D)

Day 6 : Caesarea Philippi (Banias) - Magdala - Tel Dan

This morning will begin with a drive to the northern border of both ancient and modern Israel to the Biblical site of Caesarea Phillippi. At this location, Christ asked Peter, “who do men say that I the son of man am?”. This is an amazing site that demonstrates how Christ taught from his sur-roundings. After visiting Caesarea Phillipi, we will visit the site of Tel Dan. This is the northern border of both modern and ancient Israel. After lunch we will visit the site of Magdala. Magdala is believed to be the home town of Mary Magdalene. It’s a recently discovered site with a syna-gogue that dates back to the first century. Ramada Nazareth (B,D)

Day 7 : Beth Shean – Jordan Valley – Jordan River (Bethabara) – Dead Sea Float

September 15, 2022
We will check out of our hotel this morning and head to Jerusalem, making several stops along the way. Our first stop will be the strategic site of Beth Shean (one of the decapolis cities of the New Testament). At these impressive ruins we will see the splendor of Roman life and Hellenis-tic culture. Here Saul’s body was nailed to the city walls when he was captured. We will then drive through the Jordan Valley passing by Jericho and review some of the important scriptural events that took place on the road to Jericho. We will stop by what is believed to be near the an-cient baptismal site of Christ on the Jordan River. Before heading into Jerusalem, we will stop at the Dead Sea, where we will be able to float on the Dead Sea. We will check into our hotel in Je-rusalem for a relaxing evening. Olive Tree Hotel (B,D)

Day 8 : Jerusalem – Mount of Olives/Garden of Gethsemane – Old City – City of Da-vid/Hezekiah’s tunnel

September 16, 2022
We will begin our morning from the Mount of Olives at the “private Garden of Gethsemane”. Here we will be able to peacefully study and contemplate the miracle of Gethsemane. Then we will begin a walking tour of the Old City in which we will see the St. Anne’s Church with the Pools of Bethesda, and the Antonia Fortress (the possible location where Christ appeared before Pon-tius Pilate). We will walk a portion of the “Via Dolorosa”, which is the traditional road that Christ walked on his way to Golgotha, eventually arriving at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where many Christians believe Christ was sacrificed. We will give you some free time in the Old City for lunch and shopping before we make our way to the City of David and Hezekiahs’ Tunnel. We will return to our hotel in the evening. Day 9 : Bethlehem - House of Caiaphas - Upper Room Old City Free Time

We will start the morning in Bethlehem, where we will visit the Church of the Nativity. This is the traditional location of the grotto-cave where many religions believe Christ was born. We will then visit the Shepherd’s fields. We will return to Jerusalem and visit the traditional House of Caiphas, the High Priest, who took Christ as he came forth from Gethsemane. Then we will visit the tradi-tional “Upper Room” on Mount Zion where we will discuss the Last Supper. Olive Tree Hotel (B,D)

Day 10 : Old City (Western/Wailing Wall) – Temple Mount – Jerusalem Center – Garden Tomb – Mount of Olives – Golgotha

Today we will visit other sites from the Old City that we missed from Tuesday. We will spend much of the day near the Western Wall and Temple Mount, where we will discuss the sacred history of that Mount from the time of Genesis through the time of Christ. We will visit a small museum and the southern steps of the Temple Mount. We will then visit the Jerusalem Center, guided by those assigned to serve there. In the evening, we will proceed to the Garden Tomb, where we will also be able to view the ancient Golgotha. Here we will be discuss and ponder the final moments of Christ’s mortal life and his glorious resurrection. Olive Tree Hotel (B,D)

Day 11 : Qumran (optional) – Wadi Qelt– Massada - Transfer to Jordan

This will be the final day of tour in Israel. On our way to Massada, we will stop at the scenic Wadi Qelt overlook, which lies on the ancient road to Jericho from Jerusalem and overlooks the Ju-daean wilderness. From there, we will head to Masada passing by the Qumran caves where the Dead Sea scrolls were found. Upon arriving at Massada, we will take a cable car to the top of Masada to see the ruins of the palace-fortress built by King Herod. We will discuss the history of the Zealots’ last stand against the Romans. For those interested in swimming, we will stop on our way back at a beach on the Dead Sea where those who would like can float in the salty water. Day 12 : Wadi Rum - Free Time on Red Sea

There will be free time in the morning for those who would like to Snorkel on the Red Sea. We will check out and head to Wadi Rum where we’ll get in pickups to take a ride through the Wadi Rum desert. This is a surreal experience not to be missed. Here you can take an awesome camel ride through the desert. We will then transfer to the amazing Hyatt Zalman resort near Petra. (B,D)

Day 13 : Jordan – Petra

Today we will visit the amazing site of Petra. Petra is a historical and archaeological city in the Jordanian governorate of Ma’an that is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Petra was established sometime around the 6th century BC as the capital city of the Nabataeans and was later occupied by the Romans. It is a symbol of Jordan as well as its most visited tourist attraction. Return to Hyatt Zalman Resort. (B,D)

Day 14 : Mount Nebo - Madaba - Amman City — Airport

September 22, 2022
We will check out of our hotel this morning. Drive from Petra to Amman via the King’s Highway to visit the Christian Town of Madaba “The City of Mosaics”. You will be visiting the St. George church with its mosaic map of the Holy Land from Byzantine times, and the Archaeological Park, which houses the remains of several Byzantine churches, including the amazing mosaics of the Church of the Virgin. Continue to Mt. Nebo, the traditional spot where the Hebrew Bible says that Moses stood and witnessed the “promised land”. Transfer to Amman for its City Tour, where you will visit Jebel al-Qala’a (the Citadel), with its remains of the Roman Temple of Her-cules, Umayyad Palace and excellent views over downtown. The National Archaeological Mu-seum, home to ancient findings from the whole country, is located on the Citadel grounds. Con-tinue to the impressive Roman Theatre, the largest in Jordan, with room for 6,000 spectators. The small Folklore Museum and Museum of Popular Traditions are adjacent to the Theatre. Free time for walking/shopping in bustling markets of the downtown area, locally known as al-Balad. Transfer to the airport for departure.

Day 15 : Arrive Home
